Bradley County Troops

Several companies of Confederate troops were raised in Bradley County during the Civil War. Bradley County men served in companies of the 2nd, 6th and 12th Arkansas Cavalry Regiments and the 2nd, 5th, 9th, 20th, 24th and 26th Arkansas Infantry Regiments, as well as Crawford’s Arkansas Infantry Battalion and Capt. Parker’s Co. Mounted Volunteers. Many of the men fought east of the Mississippi River in Tennessee, Georgia and Mississippi while others served in the Trans-Mississippi, marching and fighting battles in Arkansas and neighboring states.
