Markers and Grants

Historical Marker Program

The Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission has established a historical marker program through which it will work with local partners around the state to tell the stories of the Civil War in their area. Click here for more information on the ACWSC Historical Marker Program.

Please keep in mind that the ACWSC matching funds are part of this application. Applicants do NOT have to fill out a separate grant application for matching funds for their historical marker.

Civil War Sesquicentennial Grants

The Commission also is offering competitive grants to help assist local commemorations of the Civil War in Arkansas. To learn more about the grants, which can be for as much as $2,000, click here. ACWSC Grants CANNOT be used as match for ACWSC Historical Markers.

Please note that applications for historical markers can be sent in at ANY TIME. Only the grants have stated deadlines.
