Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park on Highway
62 at Prairie Grove includes much of the area of heaviest fighting in the December 7, 1862, battle of Prairie Grove that effectively removed northwest
Arkansas as a route for Confederate troops to use to invade Missouri.
Museum open daily 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p. m.
Picnic Area and Restrooms open daily 8:00 a.m. - one-hour after sunset.
Museum, historic building and tours closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve at noon, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
From I-540 in Fayetteville, take exit 62 and turn west onto US Hwy 62. Follow about 12 miles to the park.
