The museum, located on the town square, focuses on the history of South Sebastian County. The Civil War exhibit highlights events and individuals unique to the area. Prominent in the display are the Civil War artifacts and stories of Greenwood and South Sebastian County families, including the county’s last Civil War veteran, James Hawkins McConnell. Of particular interest is historical material relating to the Battles of Devil’s Backbone. 
 
From Fort Smith: Take 540 to 71 South (exit 12). Continue on 71S. Exit at Greenwood, 10 Spur. Follow 10 (Central Street) east into Greenwood. The Old Jail Museum Complex is on the south side of the town square, east of the Courthouse.
 
Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 11AM – 3PM.
