Region: Delta
County: Prairie
DeValls Bluff was a major Union post on the White River after 1863 and a key Confederate position before that. The town's rich Civil War heritage is commemorated through wayside exhibits at Rhodes Park in downtown, the White River Basin near City Hall, across from the Fire Department, and at Oakland Cemetery.
The DeValls Bluff interpretation project was a collaborative effort of the City of DeValls Bluff, the Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission, the Arkansas Humanities Council and the Department of Arkansas Heritage.
