An interpretive panel marks the site where Confederate cavalry under Brig. Gen. Thomas Dockery attacked Illinois and Wisconsin infantrymen before being routed by Col. Powell Clayton's Kansas, Indiana and Missouri cavalry on March 30, 1864.
Open daily, dawn to dusk.
From I-530 at Pine Bluff, take Highway 79 South at exit 39 to Rison. Turn left at the road's intersection with Highway 35 South. Drive two miles and turn right on Mount Elba Road. Drive nine miles to the end of the road.
