Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum

Region: Central

County: Pulaski

The mission of the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum is to commemorate America's rich naval and maritime heritage through the preservation and exhibition of historic naval vessels and related artifacts.

The Civil War submersible CSS Hunley is part of our permanent exhibit on submarine history.  The museum also has a major exhibit on the CSS Arkansas, an ironclad ram that fought on the Mississippi River and was instrumental in breaking the Union blockade of Vicksburg in July 1862.  Future Civil War exhibits are planned for the sesquicentennial period.
