"Conflict at the Doorstep": Washington Remembers
the Camden Expedition 1864

Activities commemorating the Camden Expedition and the battle of Prairie D'Ane, featuring activities at Historic Washington State Park and the Nevada County Depot and Museum in Prescott. Come and hear about the days when the Civil War came close to Washington's doorstep with the Battle of Prairie D'Ane during the Camden Expedition of 1864. View and see daily programs about what residents of Washington were thinking during this time. The "Town in Conflict" street drama will be performed at Historic Washington State Park on Saturday April 5, and Sunday, April 6, at 3 p.m. and the park will have activities on April 8 and 9. Prairie DeAnn Sesquicentennial Reenacment - April 12, 2014


On April 12, 2014, Nevada County will witness the 150th anniversary of three Civil War battles: the Battle of Elkin�s Ferry, the Battle of Prairie DeAnn, and the Battle of Moscow.


The Battle of Prairie DeAnn Reenactment is scheduled to take place April 12th, 2014 from 10 am to 3 pm in Prescott, AR with the actual reenactment taking place at 1 pm.


The Nevada County Depot and Museum is committed to preserving and sharing the history of Nevada County and the Camden Expedition. Please share documents, photographs, and information about your ancestors who fought in or witnessed this portion of the Camden Expedition. We will place these records in the museum to further the scholarly research of this county. Forward to curator@depotmuseum.org or mail to 403 West First Street South Prescott AR, 71857.
